Facing it or Running Away

What do you do when you are sad? What do you do when you feel alone? What do you do when there is a problem? What do you do when your professional life falls apart? What do you do?

The questions above are what we as youth face the most and what makes our life what it is. Now just reread every question and think of the answers to it. Think what happens to us and how you deal with all this chaos!!

When I see people of our age, the Genz, the ones who are all cool and they seem to have it all figured out. Is it true? Have we figured it out? Do we know everything or do we just run? Run from reality, run from our problems, run from everything wrong in our lives, we do this. I do this, you do this, almost everyone around us does this.

I talked to a lot of Genz or millennials as we say, and I found out one core way that most of us follow which is to know the problem and know every possible way to avoid it. We avoid it because facing such situations becomes tricky and hectic and in this fast world, sometimes we do not have time to solve it all.

I still remember when I was in 9th or 10th standard, I had a friend who was not at all interested in studying theory subjects and he used to just learn them like a parrot and forget the next minute of giving the exam. Now this was fine till 8th standard but after that studying patterns changed and the amount of theory and way of learning changed. He started to leave chapters and score less marks in theory. This affected his result, but as a miracle or God's gift, we had a teacher who loved to talk to students. She made sure that my friend was not running away. She started giving him tests and small cards of notes which helped him learn to connect and understand theory.

The basic reason why I told you all this is because eventually, you have to face it all. Today, tomorrow, or maybe years later but you have to. So why not as early as possible?

I have even seen kids and youngsters start to smoke and drink in the name of stress busters but do they help or make it worse? I have an old batchmate who literally, not exaggerating used to smoke almost 20 to 30 cigarettes in one single sitting of the day just because he felt stressed!!!

That is so messed up. Think about our parents, are they not stressed? Are they not under constant pressure to provide the best for us? What are we doing? We are increasing their stress, we are putting them in a position of more financial and emotional stress.

I know it is hard to understand and face problems. The issues are multiple, personal, professional, financial, emotional, our appearance, and a lot more in this growing generation and all this is only increasing because of what we see on our daily feeds. It increases our expectations of life and that leads to stress and unnecessary pressure on ourselves and the people around us.

We have to learn, we have to give a space for ourselves to at least learn from the experience of our elders. Learn from people who went through this phase, people who face stress and pressure on a daily basis. Pressure from their office, families, friends, and whatnot.

We as kids are always bound to just get it all in a silver spoon but life is not that fair to us. It can be too harsh at times and maybe you have to face it all. Someday you might not have any path to run away, just a small seat to face it all.

So start facing your problems. Start understanding the root cause of the problem and try to solve it. You might fail, buckle up!! Get ready!! start all over again and you will get it all done.

I always am curious to know more about why we behave the way we behave. I have seen kids going all crazy and frustrated because their parents don't want to listen to them. why? To know this story you have to wait a little and check out my upcoming blog!!

Until then, Do read my previous blogs and let me know in the comments section, how you found them!
