Rising AI, Rising Scam

With growing technology and social media networks around us, there is one thing that we all use and experience in our day-to-day lives: Artificial intelligence. It's a really big change in current times. Whether you are a student, a working professional, or someone who wants to surf the Internet, we have AI for everything from voice searches to writing your content. I won't talk about AI's perks or how AI benefits us here; I will be talking about the dark side of AI, the side of AI that we all must know. This site will make you think before whatever you do on your phone or social media.

We all have heard about the Rashmika Mandana case of MMS. Her pictures were morphed using AI so cleanly that we could not differentiate the real story. She was trolled highly because of that. Still, you might think this was okay like it was happening before. Morphing and editing pictures was common for people to do that.

So why am I pointing to AI specifically? When we talk about AI, it's very easy. If you don't even know how to do editing, you have to take two pictures and write a prompt that moves these pictures or shifts the face of one person on another picture; it will do it for you in seconds. You can create a whole new image of a person without even having any wrong footage of that person or anything.

It is very easy for people to use your voice to trick your family and friends into thinking you are talking to them. This way, people can get money out of your family. This seems very unreal.

Still, it happens and will keep happening. You might be thinking, how can we even stop it? How is it possible for us not to use social media in such a digital age? How is it possible for us to not be on the Internet? I know, I understand. Still, there are a few things that we can do. We cannot stop being on social media, but we can limit what we share. We can restrict how and to whom we show ourselves in society.

With positivity comes the negative effects of the technology. We need to know what can happen if we are prepared for the dangers and how to prevent them. People need to understand that the government has cyber security portals that help register complaints related to digital media, social media, or anything happening on the Internet that is wrong for them or about them.

AI is a big achievement in the 21st century and is helping a lot, but the dark side is yet to be discovered. And I promise you that we all must be prepared and ready for anything and everything coming with this positive technology.
