Think for a moment in your life when you did something just for the sake of society and social group…  Think for that moment that you know what you did is wrong and will harm you…  In the previous blog, we learned about how peer pressure can be dangerous for any individual. In this blog, we're going to talk about one of the most common things that every one of us faces which is social pressure.  According to psychology, social pressure is the influence exerted by a group or society on an individual or another group to comply with particular norms or behavior. This pressure can be overt or covert. We all are affected by social pressure. Maybe in school or college, in our society, or in our daily discussions, we are experiencing societal pressure at different levels in our lives. But how can we explain the Societal Pressure? How does this affect the mental state of a Person? How simply can these social pressures ruin any individual's life?  We all have such moments in ...

Facing it or Running Away

What do you do when you are sad? What do you do when you feel alone? What do you do when there is a problem? What do you do when your professional life falls apart? What do you do?  The questions above are what we as youth face the most and what makes our life what it is. Now just reread every question and think of the answers to it. Think what happens to us and how you deal with all this chaos!! When I see people of our age, the Genz, the ones who are all cool and they seem to have it all figured out. Is it true? Have we figured it out? Do we know everything or do we just run? Run from reality, run from our problems, run from everything wrong in our lives, we do this. I do this, you do this, almost everyone around us does this.   I talked to a lot of Genz or millennials as we say, and I found out one core way that most of us follow which is to know the problem and know every possible way to avoid it. We avoid it because facing such situations becomes tricky and hectic an...

Menstruation- Physical and a Mental Change

Image
Hey readers, must be thinking about this heading. Might sound weird but just for a moment think of the smallest girl in your house or neighborhood who might be 12-13 years old and suddenly comes up to you asking if she is going to die. There will be hundreds of questions in your mind, from where the girl got that, why she is saying that, and many more. To understand this I have a little story. Almost every girl reading this will agree with the fact of how quiet we are asked to be when it comes to menstruation, especially when we are in front of our brothers or fathers or any male human being.  I heard this story from someone I know, and while I was listening to it I felt so weird that why would a mother do that? The story is about a little girl who must be 12 years old. A normal day in her life that turned out to be maybe a traumatic one. Why? Because her mother didn’t talk to her. That day she thought that she is going to die, she thought that she will not be able to survive anymo...

Think of the youngest kid in your family who plays general mobile multiplayer games. A small kid who is excited and intrigued by knowing new people. What if that kid meets someone wrong? Someone who manipulates the kid to take steps that can ruin their whole life or the life of the parents. Sounds weird right, Makes you feel afraid and creates an urge to check up on the kids at your house right? But why?  We are not even able to think of such a thing right. but here I have a story of a little 13-year-old boy who got influenced in such a way that changed his and his parent's way of living.  The image shows how bound we are to our digital devices. A little boy from a small town Sikar, in Rajasthan. A small happy family of the boy and both his working parents. Working parents, a basic reason that drove the boy to the mobile game called Pubg and meeting some random boys from Bangalore. Talking with the boys, and playing with them was just like a regular thing for the kid. Who knew...
