Milestones!!!

This is my story!!!! What is my story?? Who am I?? How did I end up in writing?? These are the questions I ask myself every day. Yesterday, or say 15th June, was the day when I understood this. I am a 22-year-old, independent girl living far from my hometown. But isn’t this the story of us all? What is different for me? I was just 14 years old when I got to experience the worst thing in my life.. My father's death!! He was suffering from Cancer, I was a little girl in class 8th and my life changed completely. Since then, I have never discussed this part of me with many people. Only the closest ones to me know the emotional and this empty side of me. My father was the greatest man I knew. I wanted to make him feel proud and see all my achievements. I know he would have been my biggest cheerleader ever.  I got enrolled in NCC. He would have loved it. He always wanted one of his daughters to serve in the army or anything related to serving the nation. Then I completed my 10th and 12th...

Policy Pitfalls: Understanding India's Challenges

Image
Learning and understanding policies and laws living in a diverse country, we need to accept our policies, which are always in the making. Eventually, they will be for our benefit. This story of truckers and their law reminds everyone of making rules – involving the people it affects from the start. The road to change isn't just about the destination; it's about how you get there. Let's discuss this recent law in India, especially for truck drivers. Ensuring truckers had better working conditions was supposed to be a good thing. But man, did it hit a rough patch! The idea was to set up rules about working hours, rest breaks, and safety for drivers who practically live on the road. Sounds good, right? Well, it turns out not everyone thought so. So, what happened? The problem was more about how they introduced it than the law itself. It's like they forgot to explain why this law was needed in the first place. Imagine someone telling you to change your whole routine without...

Rising AI, Rising Scam

Image
With growing technology and social media networks around us, there is one thing that we all use and experience in our day-to-day lives: Artificial intelligence. It's a really big change in current times. Whether you are a student, a working professional, or someone who wants to surf the Internet, we have AI for everything from voice searches to writing your content. I won't talk about AI's perks or how AI benefits us here; I will be talking about the dark side of AI, the side of AI that we all must know. This site will make you think before whatever you do on your phone or social media. We all have heard about the Rashmika Mandana case of MMS. Her pictures were morphed using AI so cleanly that we could not differentiate the real story. She was trolled highly because of that. Still, you might think this was okay like it was happening before. Morphing and editing pictures was common for people to do that. So why am I pointing to AI specifically? When we talk about AI, it...

Echoes of Tradition: Rajasthani Folk Artists

Image
An unheard tale of a hardworking man who loves his culture, family and work. A man who works hard to feed a family of 15 members. While adapting to a foreign culture and learning it, I want to talk about people who have kept our culture and music alive and have always been an integral part of our society.  Remember Mame Khan and Salam Ali, the voices behind some of our favourite songs? I wonder if anyone knows where these voices come from. We have never even tried to know about them. So today, I will talk about someone with a great voice, but apparently, he could not grow as these artists.  I am talking about a singer, a Kathputli artist, and a musician. Someone who has been to Italy, Germany, and America but still lives in a single-room house with 15 people and is the sole earner. I am talking about Mr. Mahendra Bhati. Of course, you don’t know him, of course, you don’t know anything about him, but let us take a moment to understand him and his story.  In November, I vis...

Social Conditining

Image
We all talk about how we are born and brought up in our lives. It seems like a small thing but the way we are grown up matters a lot in our social build-up. Today, I want to talk about something that matters in our lives a lot 'Our social conditioning'. We will be talking about how we used to be conditioned in our parents' generations and probably how we are conditioned compared to the fact that kids nowadays are conditioned. First and foremost I would want to talk about the basic treatment of kids. In our times, when we were young, we were treated to be strong and we were left to do and learn small things on our own like climbing stairs, playing outside, sometimes getting dirty and our demands were not always fulfilled whereas nowadays kids are pampered.  I guess we all have heard this term and we have used it for kids who are always kept in a bubble. A soft protected bubble that has kept them in a cozy vibe that never bothered their living style. These pampered kids are n...

Real or Made Up Victims

Image
Do you ever feel that something is wrong with you? Do you think that people are suppressing you or your lifestyle? Do you feel victimized? BUT, Are you victimized?  Are you suppressed? OR is it just in your head? Today, I will touch on the most sensitive nerve of people out there. This blog might make you offended but we have to talk about it. We have to talk about how people put themselves in the position of a victim.  We all have done this in life. Being a victim or feeling like a victim in situations is normal just like every other thing but only till it is not a habit. Once you get used to feeling victimized, you will start feeling that everything is wrong.  What exactly this victim culture is? Once you start blaming others for your situation and develop a sense of entitlement. A culture of blame-shifting, excuse-making, and self-pity.  Do these terms feel familiar!!! You might have heard them around you or might have seen people with such traits.  Victimhoo...

Do what makes you feel happy

Think for a moment in your life when you did something just for the sake of society and social group…  Think for that moment that you know what you did is wrong and will harm you…  In the previous blog, we learned about how peer pressure can be dangerous for any individual. In this blog, we're going to talk about one of the most common things that every one of us faces which is social pressure.  According to psychology, social pressure is the influence exerted by a group or society on an individual or another group to comply with particular norms or behavior. This pressure can be overt or covert. We all are affected by social pressure. Maybe in school or college, in our society, or in our daily discussions, we are experiencing societal pressure at different levels in our lives. But how can we explain the Societal Pressure? How does this affect the mental state of a Person? How simply can these social pressures ruin any individual's life?  We all have such moments in ...
